Mobile Web

Although usually at the forefront of technology, my mobile phone is one thing I haven’t upgraded for something like 10 years. So, I decided I would treat myself to an early Christmas present and got a mobile phone that could also browse the web as well as send & receive emails. Unfortunately I couldn’t stretch to an iPhone or Android phone, so I went for a sensibly priced Sony Ericsson C510.

However, until I looked at the ExpandOnline website on my new mobile I didn’t realise how awful it looked, how slow it loaded, or how difficult it was to find even contact information to call us - so it was time to put together a slimmed-down version of the homepage for mobile browsers.

If you have a mobile phone and browse to www.expandonline.co.uk you will be taken to the mobile version of the homepage - at the moment it’s very simple and just contains a brief overview of ExpandOnline’s services, with a clickable phone number and an email link. I will watch the stats to see how many visitors end up at the mobile site to see how much effort I need to put into integrating the other content.
